Our size descriptions are easy to read once you know how. Tree dimensions (such as the one shown above) will describe the height as a range in 1/2 foot increments. 9-10' means 9 to 10 feet tall. 4 1/2-5' means 4 1/2 to 5 feet tall.

The other dimension of the tree's size is the caliper which is basically the diameter of the trunk just above the dirt. 2 1/2" means the trunk's diameter is 2 1/2 inches.

We don't size our evergreen trees by caliper. Instead they are usually only described by height as well as the container size, or as BB if they are Ball and Burlap.

Container sizes are not precise descriptions of volume. A #5 container is NOT exactly 5 gallons. Please don't use them for measurement. Actual volume will vary between different container manufacturers.
